Instagram Story Templates Anyone Can Use

Instagram stories are a great way of connecting with your audience and getting vital opinions on anything from a favourite song to lifetime goals. However, creating stories from scratch requires time and imagination – something we all wish we had more of.

Here, you’ll be able to find tips on creating your own templates, as well as a few freebies that you can use whenever you are running low on inspiration.

How Can I Make My Own Story Templates?

If you don’t have the photoshop skills that you wish you had, you can still make your own designs in other ways. Apps such as Canva and Stencil have made it easy for you to create anything. Whether it’s Instagram story templates or even detailed infographics. Not only are these great platforms for designing, but a lot of the templates and designs are also free for you to use – you only have to pay for premium features.

Dos and Don’ts of Instagram Story Templates

Tip #1: Be Consistent

Whether it’s sticking to your brand’s colour palette or re-using that minimalist theme you like so much – from fonts to filters it’s important to maintain your brand in every template you use. Whatever your style, make sure you use it consistently!

Tip #2: Use Stock Images If You Don’t Have Your Own

Images are a great way to draw attention to an Instagram story. Whilst everyone wants to put their own images out there, sometimes you can’t find one that fits perfectly – this is where stock images are useful.

Tip #3: Add Animation

Gifs, stickers and other elements can elevate your Instagram story and make it stand out in the crowd. Add some animation to make your story pop.

Tip #4: Don’t Put Text Too Close to the Edges

We can all get carried away with our designs and forget about the practicality of what we are making. Make sure that your design stays inside the viewable section of the Instagram story and doesn’t overlap your profile icon at the top or reply box at the bottom.

What If I Don’t Have Time to Make My Own?
