Marketers Making Moves Mentoring Programme

An innovative FREE 6-month mentoring programme for supporting young UK-based marketing talent through one-to-one mentoring sessions and expert technical marketing training. The programme aims to build a much-needed bridge between university and the working world, by giving young marketers essential support and encouraging them to confidently thrive in the workplace.

20 mentors and 20 mentees making marketing magic through monthly meetings, constructive guidance and expert technical training.

The Aim

We’re all about the marketing life and we want to support, educate and inspire young marketers with the practical aspects of marketing. We know what it’s like to finish University and feel like you need a confidence boost for the workplace. This is where the mentoring programme comes in 💁‍♀️

Marketers Making Moves builds a much-needed bridge between university and the working world by giving young marketers essential support.

Over 6 months, participants will be working 1-2-1 through monthly meetings (virtual and in-person, if possible).

The Format

Once applying to Marketers Making Moves, mentees will be paired with mentors based on their career ambitions and how they want to develop their practical skills. Events will be held via Zoom and mentees will receive a Girls in Marketing handbook to track their progress. Mentors will also have regular training sessions to ensure they can give the best guidance to mentees. The GiM team will be there to support both mentors and mentees every step of the way, as we want to see marketers making MOVES during the programme.

Mentor Requirements

  • 18+ and living in the U.K.
  • People with 4+ years of experience or who feel they could guide and support someone on their marketing journey.
  • Must be confident in giving practical advice on a one-on-one basis.
  • Wanting to gain experience in mentoring to benefit them personally or in the workplace. Since mentoring hugely impacts progression in the workplace, we anticipate that mentors will want to get involved for both themselves and their passion for marketing.

Young marketers need to feel confident thriving in their workplace, and this can only happen with the support of others.

What Problem is it Solving?

Marketers Making Moves builds a much-needed bridge between university and the working world by giving young marketers essential support. They’ll be learning how to apply technical software such as Facebook Ads Manager, Google Ads Manager, Mailchimp, and SEO software such as SEMRush. In our recent survey, 100% of final year and recent university graduates said they felt they could further benefit from learning more about these technical elements. This needs to change ASAP.

The Commitment

We ask all of our mentors and mentees to be completely committed to the programme throughout the duration (this will be August 2021 till January 2022) since it will be a learning experience for both people. We ask mentors to be committed to the growth of their mentees and vice versa.
