As the first instalment in a new practical workshop series, this event is designed to re-engage your copywriting skills and get you crafting delicious sentences that your audience will want to devour. We will show what makes good copy, help you to identify your copywriting focus and set some fun writing prompts for you to complete during the live webinar.
First, we will invite you to share why you’ve joined this group workshop and if there’s any specific type of copy you’re struggling to write. We want to make sure everyone takes away something valuable so the more you’re willing to share, the better. This will help you to identify your copywriting focus and where you should place your attention for the rest of the workshop. You might find other marketers in the room are struggling with a similar thing!
Before we dive straight into the exercise, we will cover exactly what makes good copy and how you can write an engaging hook. Hooks are commonplace throughout all types of copywriting so no matter what you choose to write in this workshop, your hook is bound to be important.
You will be tasked with a variety of writing prompts to choose from. Depending on what area of copywriting you’d like to work on, you can choose a prompt and get started. We will give you 15 minutes of uninterrupted writing time to scribble and bring your ideas to life. Remember: your work doesn’t have to be perfect. In fact, it doesn’t even need to be used anywhere! The aim of this workshop is to build your copywriting confidence, re-ignite your inspiration and feel self-assured when responding to creative briefs.
We will also allow time for you to discuss your response to the exercise and share what you wrote in the webinar chat function. This is a positive and uplifting workshop so we are there to cheer you on if you choose to share.
Become a member to join this virtual practical copywriting workshop. You won’t need to do anything else after that! As a member, we will automatically send you a direct link to join the workshop via email.
Once you sign up as a member, you will need to have a notebook and pen by your side or a laptop screen with an online writing document open. You can also bring a rough draft of something you want to improve. It could be a blog, email copy or maybe a personal LinkedIn post. The choice is yours!
Unfortunately, this event will not be recorded. Since it’s a practical workshop, you will get the most benefit from joining live. But don’t worry if you can’t make it, we’re hosting another one of these workshops again soon. Check it out here.
