Words for Everyone: The Science and Strategy of Accessible Marketing with Ettie Bailey-King

Every day, people consume content while exhausted, overstimulated, distracted, or using assistive technology. If your message is hard to read, confusing, or cognitively demanding, it doesn’t just exclude people, it gets ignored.

In this session, we’ll explore how to write marketing content that works for real humans, in real-world conditions.

We’ll blend science, strategy, and practical examples to show how accessibility improves clarity, trust, and reach – for everyone, not just a minority of users.

Meet the host:

Ettie Bailey-King is an inclusive and accessible communication expert and a former Marketing Director. She helps you make your messages land, with everyone. So you can reach new audiences, and connect more deeply with them.

Ettie teaches accessible and inclusive communication through warm, engaging, interactive workshops. She’ll take you through the science of how we understand information when we are tired, distracted, or neurodivergent, and the tools you need to make your marketing truly accessible.

She’s worked for clients including Eurostar, Greenpeace, Savills, Oxfam and the Southbank Centre.

In this webinar, we’ll cover:

  • The tech behind the text: How screen readers and braille displays actually interpret your copy – plus how to format hashtags, hyperlinks, emojis, and structure so they make sense beyond a visual experience.
