If you’ve ever looked at your social posts and thought “Why is this not landing?” then you’re not alone (trust us!)
Organic social is one of the most misunderstood parts of marketing. It’s expected to build brand, drive sales, follow trends, beat the algorithm, and magically go viral – all at once. No pressure, right?
In this Ask the Marketer Q&A, we’re joined by Rebecca Shipton, Head of Social and organic social specialist, to have an honest conversation about why organic social often feels like it’s not working and what brands are getting wrong behind the scenes. From unclear strategy and unrealistic expectations to content fatigue and chasing trends, this session will cut through the noise and focus on what actually matters.
Rebecca Shipton is a Head of Social and organic social specialist with over eight years’ experience working across fashion, fitness, and health brands including Gymshark, Flo Health, and Lounge. Originally starting her journey as a fashion student at Birmingham City University, Rebecca always knew she wanted to work in marketing – with early inspiration rooted in platforms like Tumblr.
Having spent the majority of her career working in-house, Rebecca recently made the move to agency life, where she leads social strategy and execution for a range of brands. Known for her practical, honest approach to organic social, she focuses on building strategies that balance creativity, consistency, and realistic expectations. Outside of work, Rebecca is a self-confessed nerd who loves gaming, reading fantasy novels, and spending time with friends, family, and her boyfriend Rob.
